Reading:  Do this BEFORE class on Thursday:

	Chapter 7, Solving Single Equations, Sections 7.1 thru 7.4
	Chapter 8, Solving Simultaneous Equations
		(First half is a review of what we've done in class)
	Chapter 12,  Sorting and Retrieving (only 7 pages!)

We will skip chapters  9, 10, and 11, though many of you in ME,CE, IE, or
BSE may eventually want to use chapter 11 as a reference when you learn what a
nonlinear optimization problem is!


Problems:  Due Thursday, 2/25   (I will go over the
techniques for some of these at the start of lab on Thursday, 2/18, and you
will have the rest of lab to get started):
